Public presentation of the publication TO BE FROM/OUT

 
On Monday 1st of March 2010 in  premises of the Austrian Cultural Forum Belgrade the public presentation of the publication TO BE FROM/OUT – Towards the Redefinition of the Cultural Identity of Serbia was held.

The bilingual (Serbian/English) publication TO BE FROM/OUT – Towards the Redefinition of the Cultural Identity of Serbia represents collection of the essays of relevant domestic and foreign authors, which aims to contribute to the opening of the public space for critical reflection and dialogue on the topic of cultural identity as an important determinant in the processes of building the reputation of the country and the crucial element of collective identity. The publication is realised by the organisation KULTURKLAMMER – centre for cultural interactions with support of the ERSTE Bank a.d. Novi Sad.

The project was presented by organizers, while Prof. Dr. Milena Dragiæeviæ Šešiæ (University of Arts in Belgrade) and Dr. Zoran Eriæ (Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade) spoke about publication and the topic to which it is dedicated.






 


After the introductory part of the presentation Prof. Dr. Monika Mokre (Institute for Cultural Studies and Theatre Research at the Austrian Academy of Sciences) held lecture under the title About the Necessity and Impossibility of Identities. Scattered Thoughts about Identities in Serbia, Austria, and Elsewhere.











Public presentation of the publication is realised in cooperation and with support of the Austrian Cultural Forum Belgrade.
