PUBLICATION on the PROJECT RESULTS

Publication Memory of the City is one of the project's results and in the same time the dossier on the activities that were realized within the project.

Envisaged as a means of documenting the whole process of the project realization and disseminating the knowledge and experiences gained through its implementation, the structure of the publication is based on following the chronology and flow of the project. Its content is organized in three parts, each one dedicated to the particular project activity:

This chapter documents realization of Dušica Dražić’s artwork Blueprint and audience animation programs that were organized around the exhibition by the artist in the Cultural Center of Belgrade during the period from 17th August to 1st September 2011.

In the focus of this chapter is the international symposium Memory of the City - Policies and Practices of the Memory Preservation and Integration in the City's Development held on September 12th and 13th, 2011 in the Cultural Center of Belgrade. The chapter is conceived as a résumé of the Symposium which provides insight in the scientific and theoretical framework of the entire project through summarizing conclusions made during the lectures and discussions and papers written by certain participants in the symposium.

The chapter provides insight in methodological approach applied in practical segment of the project which is realized through workshops that were a part of the curriculum of undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade. Apart from this, the chapter comprises the workshops’ results – projects by students for site-specific interventions and installations in the public space of the Slavija Square.
