Programme Pancevo

Organizers: KULTURKLAMMER – Centre for cultural interactions with support of the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Serbia, the City of Belgrade, the Embassy of the Republic of France and Municipality of Pančevo , in partnership with the Cultural Heritage Preservation Institute Pančevo, and organizations Europa Nostra, Cultural Forum and Association for rehabilitation of cultural heritage ARCH.

Pančevo, 17^th September 2007

In cooperation with the Cultural Heritage Preservation Institute of Pančevo and support of the Pančevo Municipality, the visit to monuments of industrial culture of Pančevo and the presentation “The Industrial Heritage of Pančevo” will be organized. In the framework of the same program a workshop “Identifying key obstacles and possible solutions for activation of existing resources in the field of industrial heritage in Serbia“ will take place at the main building of the Municipality of Pančevo. In the evening, an additional cultural program will be offered to the audience.

15:30h | Arrival in Pančevo

15:30 - 17:00h | Guiding visit to monuments of industrial culture of Pančevo — Visit to the factory „Svilara“, today “Gumna industrija Pančevo (GIP)“, the store house „Crveni magacin“, Water-tower, Brewery “Weifert”, the old railway station, the old store house “Provijant” professionally guided by Slobodanka Perović i Dragana Ružić (The Cultural Heritage Preservation Institute of Pančevo).

17:00 - 19:00h | „Reanimation of industrial heritage in Serbia – Case Study: Monuments of Industrial Culture of Pančevo “ (The programme will take place at the main building of the Municipality of Pančevo.)

· Welcoming speech – Milutin Tomović, vice president of the Pančevo Municipality;

· Miloš Stanković, official architect of the Pančevo Municipality – „The historic centre of Pančevo“ presentation of the Pančevo
Municipality held on the gathering of the Network of the Balkan Towns with Historic centres;

· Workshop “Identifying key obstacles and possible solutions for activation of existing resources in the field of industrial heritage
in Serbia“ moderated by Prof. Ph.D. Mirjana Roter Blagojević (Faculty of Architecture, Belgrade University).

· The exhibition „Industrial Heritage of Pančevo – once and today“, opening word - Nikola Vlajić, The Cultural Heritage Preservation Institute of Pančevo

· The exhibition „Our pearls on the Danube“ , opening word - Milorad Timčenko, Expert forum “Danube Regional Initiative Pančevo”

19:45 - 20:15h | Cultural Route – Industrial Heritage Route of Pančevoin organization of the Association for rehabilitation of cultural heritage ARCH and Regional Centre for Talents "Mihajlo Pupin" – The old industrial zone of Pančevo– Weifert Brewery: "Weifert beer in the Old Brewery" (20:00h - 21:00h)
