Day 7

We found another treasure chest among the pensioners in Savski Venac. The group that fought for everything - from their properties to their cultural centre, continues to be vital, active and demanding. They want their library back from the local council, they want their family contributions to the society acknowledged, they want a permission to improve their surroundings and they want us to help them achieve all that! Everyone has many ideas about future projects and they urge us to work on their realisation.

We hear about one woman gran's blue dress and she tries it on so we can take a picture. We get invited to see the weather station in the owner's house. We commit to a tour of Sava Mala. I spent the evening there, passing its fancy restaurants alongside poor parts where some pensioners we met live...
The stories of water - Danube and Sava rivers keep bubbling up to the surface, connecting the city with its other parts, better that architects have done. Savski Venac has 4 bridges we were told, so it is bound to be like that.
