The project Creative Recycling of Belgrade was directed towards promotion of industrial heritage as the important generator of authentic identity of communities but also towards emphasizing its multicultural dimension as a great value since the industrial heritage keeps memory on the process of modernization and progress of societies all over the world and can be perceived as something that is common to different societies and can become factor of connection and starting point for cooperation and joint actions at regional and wider European level. It is important to stress that specific value of industrial heritage in Serbia lays in a fact that it represents part of European heritage and memory since great number of industrial buildings were built by architects from different European countries and that industrial heritage can be perceived as material evidence of cultural diversity of Serbian society and its connections with European and world cultural heritage.
